Your data
You are being asked to hand over your career history. That deserves a straight answer about what happens to it, in language you should not need a lawyer for.
What we collect
What you give us, and nothing you did not. That is your CV and the structured information extracted from it, the destination you choose, and anything you add directly: relationships, reputation signals, scope figures on a role, notes on an opportunity.
For benchmarking we also hold public career information about other people, gathered from sources like company leadership pages, conference programmes and news coverage. That is reference data shared across accounts; it is not linked to you.
You review before it is saved
When you import a CV, the extracted result is shown to you first. Nothing enters your profile until you have looked at it, and you can correct or exclude any of it. Extraction gets things wrong, because it is reading unstructured prose, and you should expect to fix a line or two.
What we will not do
- We do not train AI on your career data. It is used to produce your own Pathway and nothing else.
- We do not scrape LinkedIn. Their terms prohibit it. If you want to compare yourself with someone specific, you paste the text yourself.
- We do not sell your data or share it with recruiters, employers, or anyone else looking for candidates.
- We do not show your profile to other users. Nothing about you appears in anyone else’s benchmark cohort.
Who processes it
The application and database run on Vercel and Supabase. CV and text extraction is done by Anthropic’s API. Benchmark research uses Exa. Payments are handled by Stripe, which means card details go to Stripe and never touch our systems. Transactional email is sent through Resend.
Each of those sees only what it needs to do its job. The full legal detail is in the Privacy Policy, which is the binding version if anything here is ever less precise than it should be.
Deleting it
You can delete your account from your settings at any time. That removes your profile, employment history, scores, goals, gaps, action plans, saved comparisons and history. It is not a deactivation and it is not reversible.
If you would rather remove a single piece of evidence than the whole account, you can edit or exclude any individual role, skill, credential, relationship or reputation item directly.
Why we are this specific
Career data is unusually sensitive. It shows where you have worked, what you were trusted with, what you earn by implication, and that you may be considering leaving your current employer. Being vague about what happens to it would not be a reasonable thing to ask of you.
